Yellow, silky, smooth, soft.
All of which are synonymous with both the look and sound of our new favourite Gold Coast duo – Buttered.
Buttered is made up of Scott Dalton and Jackson James Smith and a whole lot of blonde hair. The duo is heavily influenced by artists such as Matt Corby, Stevie Wonder and D’angelo, manifesting a unique sound that has sprinkle of soul, a dash of jazz, served with a side of blues. This is only the beginning of the journey for Buttered, as their musical adventure is an adaptation of eight years of friendship. A clear indication of where their seamless synchronicity and creative energy comes from.
The band started out in late 2019 and have already made a solid impact on the Australian music scene. With over 1 million streams across their catalogue to date, as well as widespread support from Australian broadcasters and media, the duo has solidified themselves as an act with longevity behind them. Winning Breakout Artist of the Year at the Gold Coast Music Awards capped off a string of touring successes, including a number of spots at major Queensland festivals including Hidden Lanes and Valley Fiesta, Mojave Haze, Homecoming Festival and Springtime Festival and Bluesfest 2022.
They also supported nationally recognised bands Wanderers at SolBar in Maroochydore, Peach Fur at Miami Marketta and international act Muroki in Brisbane on his first overseas tour.
